about

My name is Bryan Darger, and I am currently a PGY-4 (a resident/trainee physician, four years post-graduating med school) in the emergency medicine residency program at the University of California in San Francisco.

This website is intended to serve as a personal repository for pieces of medical literature I stumble across during my training and find relevant, useful, or just plain interesting.  I hope that this site will allow me to share the things I find in my mini literature reviews with others, and perhaps eventually contribute to the broader #FOAMed movement which has given me so much throughout my education thus far.

I did a good job updating it for a couple years, then it has fallen off lately — I’ll try to get back on it eventually, I promise. 🙂 Until then, I use it mostly for keeping track of old papers and teaching points and good diagnostic algorithms and review articles, some public-facing others not because of copyright issues.

Disclaimer: This blog has no pre-publication peer review, and represents only my opinions and/or interpretations of others’ findings or opinions — it particularly does not represent the opinions of my residency program, the hospital systems I work in, or medical advice. I am not a board-certified emergency physician, and if you have a medical question or concern, you should seek out one of those in person and discuss your concerns with them before pursuing further Googling.

If you have any questions or feedback for me regarding this site or anything else, please share it with me– e-mail me at darger@gmail.com, or use the form below.
